Originally trained as a watchmaker in Kiev, Ukraine, the young couple immigrated to the Philadelphia area in the 1970’s to start their life anew. Soon they had opened their own shop repairing watches. A tip from a customer led them to selling watches as well. With their initial order selling out in the first week, they realized that the area was not served by enough jewelry stores, and they quickly expanded their business yet again. Adding to their extensive collection of designer watches, they added some of the finest diamond necklaces, bridal jewelry and certified diamonds. As their business grew, so did their need for space, and they began to expand into larger locations.

The same “can do” attitude that made them successful rubbed off on the second generation. Following in his father’s footsteps, the son started small, with just a kiosk in a mall. That kiosk became a storefront that storefront became a larger store and finally, that store became their first stand alone location, where they could offer the young brides of the greater Philadelphia area the finest diamond engagement rings. Demand was so great that a second location was soon opened.

A passion for jewelry was not the only trait that was handed down. In 2004 his son married his college sweetheart, who also happened to be a master Graduate Gemologist. This allowed them to open a gemological laboratory right inside their store, so they could now offer their customers appraisals and insurance services, as well as the finest collection of loose diamonds available in the area.
